A while back me and my brother bought a couple old photos and I finally got around to scanning them. It's so strange to imagine what was going on when the photo was taken and where the subjects are today. Click to enlarge for full effect, they're gorgeous.

On the right is what's written on the back, Judy must be about 68 now.

"He turned away to give them time to pull themselves together; and waited, allowing his eyes to rest on the trim cruiser in the distance."

Viktor & Rolf

I love Vicktor & Rolf. Here they're shot by Blommers and Schumm for the Fall/Winter GQ Style Italy. Their spring 2010 collection was genius too.

Pastelle ▲ ✚ ❙❙

Complex's website has a cool timeline of Pastelle, Kanye's clothing line-that-never-was. I like the designs, attire possibly for a robotic highschooler in the year 2500. And and the fact that it will never be available to the public makes it like a cryptid of the streetwear world. Too bad...

These are leaked photos from the Pastelle lookbook. I love the first jacket, and I'm willing to bet the second jacket took inspiration from the famed japanese manga robot, Tetsujin 28. View the timeline here for more pictures and information. Visit the Pastelle site here.

Inspiration File: Tim Van Steenbergen

Tim Van Steenbergen is a belgian designer "in search of old values in a new world". This philosophy shows in his winter 09-10 collection, which utilizes traditional functional fabrics such as wool, leather, and fleece in familiar shapes like the trench coat, but twists, folds, and drapes them into complex and original pieces. Also, each garment is hand-made.

Check out his website for the full collection and more.

Asians I Look Up To: Rip

Japanese photographer and "professional hang outer" Rip Zinger has a blog on slamxhype now. Skate heads should remember him from Four Star's Super Champion Fun Zone. Watch his First Try Friday on The Berrics.

Catlin Gabel 65th Rummage Sale

This year a sixty-five year old tradition at my school, the annual Catlin Gabel Rummage Sale, is coming to an end due to a lack of volunteers, decline in good rummage, and insufficient profits (which all go to financial aid for the students). I love the Rummage Sale and will sorely miss panning for gold among the pounds and pounds of unwanted goods. Here are this year's purchases:

I dug these YSL shoes out of the box going to Goodwill. The heels are a little messed up, but they were free.

A Peter Max jacket.

Old Catlin Gabel warm up suit.

Wolverine boots.

Some Pendleton shirts. Anyone know what what SHARP is?

A kitty tie.

Mizunos that ended up being a bit small.

A Lincoln girls lacrosse shirt, I liked this character on the breast.

Old leather briefcase.

A dvd of the Studio Ghibli film "The Cat Returns". It was japanese so didn't work on my dvd player, bummer.

FADED GLORY shoes

With a 35% mark up on opening night, the grand total was still less than $50. Be sure to check out Foster Huntington's rummage finds over at his blog: A Restless Transplant. Goodbye Rummage!
